Carl Gottlief Friedrich Stern, Sr. (1835-1923) married Friederike Luise Ida Scheunemann in 1864. Their first son, Herman (1865-1939), immigrated in 1883 from Pomerania province, Germany (now Poland) to Travis County, Texas, and sent money for his parents and brothers and sisters to immigrate in 1885. In 1890, Carl Stern purchased land in Richland, Texas. Descendants lived in Texas and elsewhere.

Michael Thiede (1811-1900) married Anna Sophia Batzke in 1834, and immigrated in 1864 from Germany to Columbus, Wisconsin (to join their first son, Charles F., who had already immigrated). Descendants and relatives lived in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Massachusetts and elsewhere.

Robert Hinsdale was born in 1617 in England. He married Ann Woodward. The family immigrated to Massachusetts around 1645. Ann died in 1666. Robert remarried to Elizabeth Dibble. Christian Fick was born in Prussia 22 October 1792 and died in about 1860. He married Dorothea Maria Stoehr, who was born in 1790 and died 14 June 1868. The three boys who came to America were: Christian Friedrich (b. 1823) , Carl Friedrich (b. 1831), and August Friedrich (b. 1834). Initially, they settled in St. Joseph, Missouri; Chicago, Illinois; and, Chicago, Illinois; respectively.
