Autobiography of James Martin Hamrick (b. 1838), who was born in Meriwether County, Georgia. His parents later moved to Troup County, and then to Villa Rica (on the border between Carroll and Douglas Counties. He married four times, and was a Confederate soldier during the Civil War.

Elijah Hedding Gillespie was born 13 October 1862. His parents were Paulser Gillespie (1838-1915) and Mary Squires Hyer. He married Mary Isabel Hamrick 29 November 1903. They had three sons. Lucas Pearson was born in Virginia in about 1787. He married Francis Blanton Tate, daughter of Reuben Blanton. They had five known children. He married Nancy in about 1827 and they had one son. Luke died before 1860 in Cleveland County, North Carolina. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in North Carolina.
