Orndorffs originally came from the area of Westfalen, Prussia, Germany. Philip Henrich Orndorff was the first to emigrate. He landed in Philadelphia in 1753. Includes alphabetical listing of individuals in various Orndorff families with biographical notes. Families lived in Virginia, Prussia, Missouri, Illinois, Colorado, Ohio, Oklahoma, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Kentucky, South and North Carolina, Arkansas, New York, and elsewhere.

Johann Lorentz Krieger (1715-1784) was born in Beddelshausen, Westphalia, Germany. In 1739 Lorentz immigrated to America and settled in Pennsylvania. In 1741 he married Maria Elisabeth Hahn and they had eight children. Descendants live in Pennsylvania and other parts of the United States.

Thomas Glisan (1735-1809) immigrated from Ireland to Baltimore County, Maryland about 1750, served in the Revolutionary War, and died in Frederick County, Maryland. John Glisan (1762-1851), his son, married Elizabeth Hartsock in 1784, and lived near Libertytown, Maryland. Descendants lived in Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and elsewhere.

Johann Friederich Willheit (1687-1747) was born in Schwaigern, Wurttemberg, Germany. He married Wilhelmina Lucretia Haffner and they became the parents of six children. They immigrated to America in 1731. They settled in Pennsylvania in York County. One of their daughters was Maria Barbara Willheit (1714-1754) who married Jacob Weller and was the mother of seven children. They settled in Maryland. Descendants live throughout the United States.
