William Harleston was born in 1804 on a plantation called The Hut, twenty-five miles from Charleston, South Carolina. His parents were William Harleston, Sr. and Sarah. He never married but spent his life with Kate Wilson (1825-1886), who was a slave, and they had eight children. He died in 1874. Robert Martin Means, son of Edward Means (1821-1898) and Henrietta Martin (1831-1883), was born in 1854 in Beaufort, South Carolina. He married Mary Pinckney (1856-1939), daughter of Charles Pinckney (1812-1898) and Esther Barnwell (1824-1864), in 1880 in Charleston, South Carolina. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in South Carolina and Massachusetts.

Henri deSaussure was born 18 July 1709 in Lausanne, Switzerland. He married Madelaine Brabant. They had six children. He died in 1761 in Coosawhachie, South Carolina. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in South Carolina.
