Thomas Haughey emigrated from Ireland to Pennsylvania about 1725. His grandson, Thomas (1759-1847), a son of John Haughey, appears on tax records of Grayson County, Virginia, as early as 1794. Thomas married Violet Clanch (1769-1846) about 1786. They had twelve children. The family moved to Ohio about 1815, leaving one married daughter in Virginia. They settled in Greene Co., Virginia. Descendants lived in Ohio, Virginia, Iowa, Illinois and elsewhere....

Peter Claesen (1625-1694) emigrated in 1636/1637 from Amsterdam, Holland to Fort Orange, New Netherland, and worked on the van Rensselaer estate. He married Grietje van Ness, moved to New Amsterdam in 1649, and settled in what became Brooklyn, New York. He assumed the surname Wijckoff (i.e. Wyckoff) when the British took Descendants lived in New York, New Jersey, Ohio, and throughout the United States. John Bailey (d.1651) immigrated from England to Newbury, Massachusetts in 1635, moving to Colchester (now Salisbury), Massachusetts in 1639. Augustus Rudolphus Bailey (1824-1878), a direct descendant in the seventh generation, married Lucy Hosmer Smith in 1848 and lived in Elmore, Vermont.
