Mathew Doyle was born in 1761 at Wexford, Ireland, and immigrated to America in 1773. Hannah McMahan (or McMahon) (1769-1847) was born in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. They were married in 1795 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They had five children, 1793?-1805. The family migrated from Lundy's Lane, near Philadelphia to Will Township, Guernsey Couny, Ohio, in 1814.
