Description
Johann Heck (1810-1885), a son of Anna Lucia Hecken and Johann Peter Schmitz, was born in Prussia. He married Anna Barbara Shaefer (1801- 1855) in 1833. They immigrated to the United States in 1852, settling in Minnesota. They had five children. He married Susan Siebenbrunner Zeren (1820-1892), a widow with four children, in 1856. They had four children. Descendants live in Minnesota.

Wencelas (Vencl) Krejdl and Uevel (Mary) Jarors were married about 1855 in Mejic, Czechoslovakia. They immigrated to the United States in 1875 with their children Joseph, Anna, Wenzl or James, Mary, Barbara, and Franz or Frank. They settled on a farm near Riverside, Iowa. The Krejdl name was changed to Sadle or Sadel.

Abraham Bleistein was born in 1725 in Bavaria, Germany. He emigrated in 1754 and settled in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. He married Louisa and had eight children, after she died he married Christina and had seven more children. Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, Indiana, Oklahoma, Kansas, Michigan and elsewhere.

Frank Robert Engelbrekt Johnson, son of John Peter Johnson and Emma Christina Wilhelmina Johnson, was born in 1893 in Sioux City, Iowa. He married Sophia Elisabeth Heck, daughter of Johannes Heinrich Heck and Louise Jeidel Heidel, in 1914. They had four sons, Luverne, Earl, Frank and Donald. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Glomminge,Sweden and Iowa.

James McLarty was born 27 May 1827 in County Antrim, Ireland. He immigrated to America ca. 1850 and on the 24 January 1862 married Ann Ervin in Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada. By 1863, they migrated to the United States and lived in Michigan prior to their settlement in Iowa. They were the parents of ten children. Descendants lived primarily in Iowa and elsewhere.

He married Eleanor McDuff (McDorf) and died before the Revolutionary War. Basilious Schmidt was born in Russia in 1846. He married Ludwiga Klötzel and they had eight children. Three died before they came to America and settled in South Dakota. One son left the family after arriving but information on the descendants of the other four sons is included in this volume. Most descendants settled land in Canada and still live in Alberta, but other descendants live in several of the northwestern states of the United States.
