Description
Kreutz Creek was located in Hellam Township; it was a union church with Lutheran and Reformed congregations since 1746. The Lutheran register was begun in 1764. Some Lutheran members of Kreutz Creek built St. James in Hellam in 1894. Kreutz Creek ended services in 1909 and its members became part of St. James.

Johann Nicholas Helm was born in 1714 in Untersensbach, Germany. He married Anna Christina in about 1742 and they had five children. In 1750 they immigrated to America and settled in Adams County, Pennsylvania. Johann Jacob Helm was born in 1726 in Airlenbach, Germany.
