He was living in Charles County, Maryland, before 1717. He and his two oldest sons were naturalized in 1727. He married twice and was the father of eighteen children, born 1709-1754. He died in 1754. The earliest known ancestor, Jacob Wright (b. 1774), was the son of Jacob Wright Sr. and Nancy? Waters. He married 1797 in Washington Co., Ky., Miriam Helm (b. 1778). They had thirteen children born in Washington and Barren Co., Kentucky. Jacob Wright was a native of Virginia and Miriam Helm of South Carolina. Thomas Armstrong Jones (1841-1917) was the son of Lewis Jones, Jr., (1812-1853) and Rachel Isabella Williams (1812-1853). He served in the Civil War from Alabama. In 1866, he married Serena Ann Wright (1842-1915) and they had at least twelve children. Descendants and relatives lived throughout the South.

Joseph Huffman Higdon (1838-1909) was the son of Major William Huffman Higdon and his wife, Jane Buchanan. In 1865, when his father came home from the Civil War, Joseph and Margaret Matilda Berry (1847- 1941) were married. They had 10 children. Descendants lived chiefly in the South, but one family emigrated to Canada.

Thomas Dills (ca. 1745-1786) was probably born in North Carolina. He married Elizabeth Cuzzine about 1765. They lived in Rutherford County, North Carolina. Descendants and relatives lived in North Carolina, Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, California and elsewhere. Includes possible ancestors to the 1600s.

Daniel Higdon (b.ca.1656) lived in Prince George County, Virginia and died before 1715. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky and elsewhere.

Leonard Higdon (1754-1837) moved from Anson County to Rutherford County, North Carolina, married Susannah Harris in 1791, and settled in Burke County, North Carolina. Descendants lived in North Carolina, Georgia and elsewhere.
