John Hiner (1742-1814) was born in Germany. He married Magdalena Burner in 1773 in Virginia. They had twelve children.

John Heiner was born in 1811 in Germany and came to America ca. 1830, with some of his brothers. He married Elizabeth Outh and they settled in Indiana. About 1858 he shortened his name to Hiner. He fought in the Civil War and died in 1864. Information on his eight children and descendants are included in this material. Descendants now live in Indiana, Tennessee, California, and elsewhere. Paul Abney (b.1652/1653) emigrated from England to Virginia, and married Mary Lee. After his death, she married his brother, Dannett Abney (also an immigrant). Descendants of these two brothers, as well as cousins who emigrated later, lived in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Texas and elsewhere. The emigrant ancestor, Johannes Häner (ca. 1675-1759), was born in Storndorf, Hesse, Germany, the son of Curt Häner, a miller at Storndorf. Johannes married (1) Anna Catharina Schneider (d. before 1710) in 1703; (2) Catharina Monsieur (1693-ca. 1795), the daughter of Hans Jacob Monsieur and Anna Catharine Bohmer of Steinsfurt, Germany, in 1710 at West Camp. William Stuck, son of John Stuck and Elizabeth Davis, was born in 1804 in Maryland. He married Catherine Phillips (1804-1895). They had ten known children. He died in 1869 in Indiana. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Pennsylvania, Indiana, Iowa and Missouri.
