John Heiner was born in 1811 in Germany and came to America ca. 1830, with some of his brothers. He married Elizabeth Outh and they settled in Indiana. About 1858 he shortened his name to Hiner. He fought in the Civil War and died in 1864. Information on his eight children and descendants are included in this material. Descendants now live in Indiana, Tennessee, California, and elsewhere.

George Washington Dale was born 22 January 1860 in Indiana. He married Sarah M. Berge in 1882 in Crawford County, Kansas. They had two children. He married Mary Etta Stone (1873-1954), daughter of John Stone and Mary Burger, in 1889. They had eleven children. He died in 1944 in Oklahoma. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Oklahoma and California.
