George Herbert Smith was born in 1882. He married Estelle Hill Hinman and they resided in New Jersey. "Believing it to be their duty to their descendants, the seven sons of Abner Hinman II, have caused to be compiled and issued, this record of the descendants in direct line from Sergeant Edward Hinman, the Pilgrim, to their father Abner II."--Introduction. Three brothers, Benjamin Franklin Hinman (1811-1889), John Flavel Hinman (1816-1900) and Henry Truman Hinman (1822-1901) migrated from Castleton, Vermont to Michigan in the 1830s. Their parents were Truman Henry Hinman (1781-1843) and Betsey Moulton (1774- 1842). Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Connecticut, Vermont, Michigan, Ohio and Illinois. Johannes Rickert/John Rickerd married Sally Ann Guile and, about 1820, they moved to Putnam, Washington County, New York. After John's death in 1856, Sally married Salah Rickerd and they lived in Hillsdale County, Michigan. Descendants of their nine surviving children lived in Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana, Illinois, New York, California and elsewhere.
