The oldest proven Hix ancestor, John Hix (ca. 1735-1804), was born in Campbell Co., Va. He was married to Sibella Rice (b. 1742). They had eight children. Thomas Hicks immigrated, probably from England, was a resident of Scituate, Plymouth Colony, by 1640. He and his wife, Margaret, had at least three sons. He died at Scotiate in 1653. His son, Daniel Hicks, was probably born between 1630 and 1635. He married Rebecca Hanmer in 1659. They had three sons, 1660-before 1673. Jacob Weldon (ca.1723-1783) and his family settled in St. Paul's Parish (later Richmond County, now Columbia County), Georgia in 1772, moving there from either Virginia or the Carolinas. Descendants lived in Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas and elsewhere.

Warren Stowe was born about 1755 in Suffield, Connecticut. He married Sarah Miller on 10 June 1784 in Wake County, North Carolina. They had 7 children. Warren died in Wake County, North Carolina and Sarah died in Franklin County, Georgia. Both of them died between 1840 and 1850 and their place of burial has not been recorded. Their descendants have lived in South Carolina, Georgia, Texas, New Mexico, and other areas in the United States.

William Pennington Quarles (1752-1814) was a descendant of Roger Quarles (ca. 1690-1751) and Jane Turnstall of Virginia. Carl (Kalman) Hutera (1875-1936) emigrated from Janoshida, Szolnock, Hungary to Alamogordo, New Mexico. He returned to Hungary to marry Marie (Mary) Nagy in 1906. They settled in El Paso, Texas. They were the ancestors of Mary Ann Hutera/Hunter (b. 1936), who married Gaylen Pedersen.
