Hezekiah Hoar was living at Scituate, Massachusetts, as early as 1637. He was one of the original purchasers of Cohansett, later know as Taunton, Massachusetts. He and his wife, Rebekah, had nine children, 1654-1678. Rebekah probably died before 1692. He died ca. 1693. Descendants listed lived in Massachusetts, New York, Wisconsin, Ohio, Illinois, and elsewhere. The surname is spelled Hoar, Hoard, Hor and Horr.

John Miller (ca. 1750-ca. 1819) was born in Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania. In about 1780 he married Margaret Bretz (ca. 1762-ca 1825), also of Lancaster County. The earliest Talsma to come to the United States was Egbert Attes Talsma (1834-1909). He married Minke Hieltjes Ynzonides in August of 1871. Minke died on July 16, 1881. Egbert remarried on June 3, 1883, to Grietje Jans Hiemstra. They and their family immigrated to the United States in 1886 and settled in the Holland, Michigan, area. Descendants and relatives lived in Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, California, Canada and elsewhere.
