George Jacob Dewald was born 20 April 1835 in Hussenbach, Russia. His parents were Samuel Jacob Dewald and Rosina Bruhan. He married Katherina Marguerita Rodenberger in 1855. They had ten children. The family emigrated in 1878 and settled in Nebraska. Descendants and relatives lived in Nebraska, Kansas, Washington and elsewhere. .

Edward Hassell was born in Barbados in about 1640 and died in Virginia in 1679. He immigrated to Carolina Province in 1665. He married Katherine Williams in about 1669 and they had no known children. He married Johannah Biggs in about 1676 and had one known son, John. John married Jane Wheeler in about 1698 and they had eight children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas and Texas.

Ephraim Goss, the son of Frederick Goss, a major in the Revolutionary War, was born in North Carolina in 1765. He and his wife, Ann Workman, had nine children, the first five born in North Carolina; the others in Indiana. He died in 1833 at Gosport, Indiana. Descendants lived in Indiana and elsewhere.

Enoch Potter (1811-1877) was born in Tennessee, the son of John Potter of Pennsylvania. He was married in Carter Co., Tennessee , in 1832 to Elizabeth Tecumseh Baird. Elizabeth died in 1835 and Enoch then married Hannah E. Stout in 1838. Descendants lived in Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, and elsewhere. Several of the family members had trouble with the law and trial transcripts are included.
