Jacob Y. Miller (1812-1872), the son of John Miller (1787-1856) and Esther Miller Miller (1787-1861) and the grandson of Daniel Miller (1755-1822) and David Miller (1758-1848), was born in Montgomery County, Ohio. Irving Edwin Hoke was born 7 August 1870 in Otsego Co., New York. He was the son of Philip J. Hoke and Mary Elizabeth Witt. Irving married Anna Martha Wikoff 29 March 1893. They moved to Los Angeles, California and were the parents of five children. Irving died 23 June 1927 in Los Angeles. Descendants lived primarily in California.

Hans Georg Hock (1709-1789), a son of Andreas and Anna Catherina Hock, was born in Germany. He married Juliana Sophia Schwartz (1711-ca. 1787), a daughter of Peter Schwartz and Susanna Barbara Bernhardt, in 1732. They had seven children. The family immigrated to America before 1741, settling in Pennsylvania. Most descendants live in Ohio and surrounding states.

Martin Coulter (ca. 1728-1808) was born in the Palatinate. He came to Philadelphia in 1749 and married Catherine Rosanna Boone (ca. 1733- 1813). They came to North Carolina in 1750. Descendants lived in North Carolina, Kentucky, Texas, Mississippi, and elsewhere.

Thomas Appling, probably the son of Richard Appling (ca. 1658-ca. 1693) the immigrant, of York County, Virginia, was living in King and Queen County, Virginia, in 1718. He married twice and was the father of at least seven children. He died in Amelia County, Virginia, in 1743. Descendants listed lived in Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Texas, and elsewhere.
