Henry Matteson (ca.1646-1690) immigrated in 1666/1667 from Ulster County, Ireland to Prudence Island in narragansett Bay, Rhode Island. He lived there during King Phillip's War, then moved to the mainland in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, and married Hannah Parsons.
