George Honeycutt Sr. was likely born ca. 1796 in North Carolina. He was a descendant of Augustine Honeycutt (born in the early 1600s) of Surrey Co., Virginia. George married Jane Elizabeth Burris sometime prior to the year 1823. Jane was the daughter of Solomon Burris and Judith Taylor. George and Jane lived in Stanly Co., North Carolina and were the parents of eight known children. Descendants lived primarily in North Carolina.
