Samuel Hatt (1874-1968) was the son of Samuel Hatt (1839-1921) and Eliza Hooper (1856-1925). He married Ida May Leavitt (1886-1961), daughter of Nathanel Leavitt (1843-1908) and Anne Maxwell (1845-1913). They were married in 1904 and had 19 children, all born at L'Etang, Charlotte County, New Brunswick.
