Description
Jacob Houser (ca.1771-1847) was the eldest son of Abraham Houser Sr. and Nancy Rhorer, and of German lineage. He was born near Hagerstown, Maryland, and married widow Mary (Phillips) Hoover about 1791 (she had one daughter, Susan). They later moved to Kentucky, and still later to Spencer County, Tennessee. Descendants and relatives lived in Maryland, Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and elsewhere.

The immigrant ancestor was Frederick Horine (b.ca.1715), a Huguenot, who immigrated with his family from the Alsace-Lorraine area of France or Germany, arriving in Baltimore in the early 1770s, and settling first in Maryland, then kentucky, and finally in Missouri.

Johann Ludwig Rauenzahner, 1711-1778, and his wife Elisabetha Barbara Lang immigrated from Germany to America in 1750, and settled in Berks County, Pennsylvania. Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Arkansas, California, and other localities.

William England was born in about 1720 in St. Pauls Parish, New Kent, Virginia. He married and had ten known children. He died in 1768 in Goochland County, Virginia. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri and Illinois.

"Michael Horine, b. 175_ d. 1810, son of Frederick Horine I. (1) (b. 1715 d. 17__) was born in one of the German provinces bordering on the River Rhine. He with his two brothers, Jacob and George and two sisters came to America in the early 1770's. They are said to have landed in Baltimore and were supposed to have lived there for a time in Maryland (probably in Frederick County, where an earlier family of Horines had settled about 25 years before)....
