Jacob Hornberger (b. ca. 1699) and his wife, Maria Barbara Hornberger, emigrated from Switzerland, probably settled first in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, and then settled in Northampton County, Pennsylvania. Their grandson, John Hornberger (1760-1812), a Revolutionary War soldier, was born in Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania, the son of Carl and Barbara Hornberger. Matthias Zener (fl.1765-1815), possibly a Hessian soldier during the Revolutionary War, married Elizabeth Geeringer in Maryland, settled in Bourbon and Union Counties, Kentucky, and moved to Clark County, Indiana in 1812. Descendants lived in Kentucky, New York, New Jersey, Indiana, Michigan, Texas, California and elsewhere.

Chiefly a record of some of the descendants of Johan Jacob Renninger. He was born 25 Dec 1780 probably in Pennsylvania. He married 27 Oct 1803 to Catharina Hoffman in Berks County, Pennsylvania. She was born 21 Aug 1784. He died 16 Mar 1859 in Brecknock Township, Pennsylvania. She died 31 Jul 1861 in East Cocalico Township, Pennsylvania. They were the parents of eight known children. Descendants lived in Pennsylvania.

Keith Nathan Lacey, son of Thomas Lacey and Mary Gramling, was born 6 Dec 1896 in Pleasant Lake, Steuben County, Indiana. He married Ruth Madge Mathis, daughter of Frank Mathis and Cora Anderson, on 4 Nov 1925 in Denver, Colorado. They had 8 children. Keith died 22 Jan 1977 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Ruth died 22 Oct 1982 in Burlington, Colorado. Some of their ancestors and life stories are contained in this book.
