Jonathan Houser (1796-ca. 1885) was the great grandfather of Charles Franklin Houser (1875-1956) who married Fannie Jane Murphy. Jonathan married Sarah Sane in 1818. She died at the birth of their second son, Jacob (1823-1904). Jonathan married Betsy Massey (1803-1831) in 1823. He married twice more. Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, North and South Carolina, Tennessee and elsewhere.

George A. Houser was born 1876 in Washington Township, Allen Co., Indiana and is the first child of John A. Houser and Catherine Snider who were early settlers of Washington Township. George married Amilie Elizabeth Rondot 9 June 1879. Amilie died 26 May 1923 and George married Mable (surname unknown). George never had any children but his brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles lived primarily in Indiana and elsewhere.

The earliest known ancestor of this family, James Crew(s), was born 1758 in Virginia and died 1841 in Knox Co., Tennessee. He served in the American Revolution. He married Lucinda Hood (1769-1838) ca. 1784 in Buckingham Co., Va. She was the sister of Aaron Hood, the progenitor of most of the Hoods in East Tennessee. They had ten children, five born in Virginia, five in Knox Co., Tenn. Descendants live in Tennessee, Georgia and elsewhere.

Henry Hull Burner was born 13 May 1829 in Pochontas Co., West Virginia. He was the son of Joshua Burner and a descendant of Erhardt Burner of Luray, Page Co., Virginia.
