Carl Hermann Franz Bedke (1744-1916) immigrated from Germany to New York City in 1861, sailed around Cape Horn to San Francisco and then went to Park City, Utah, and in 1877 moved to Bedke Spring near Oakley, Idaho. He married Polly Ann McIntosh in 1882, and became a U.S. citizen in 1885. Some descendants were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Descendants lived in Idaho, Utah and elsewhere.
