Irene Florence Laughton (1897- ) and her brother Ervine Ellsworth were both born in Bristol, Lincoln Co., Maine. Their parents were Capt. Edwin Alfonzo and Josie May Lewis Laughton. In 1930, Irene married William McKinley Parkes and they had two children, who were both born in Pasadena, Los Angeles Co., California.

Juanita Belle Anderson (1924- ) was born in Diller, Nebraska to Wilferd E. Anderson (1888-1961) and Ruby May Colman (1895-1972). Both of her parents descended from early American settlers, including those from the Mayflower. In 1947 Juanita married Archie Le Roy Towle (1923-1993) who was also a native of Nebraska. They became the parents of four children. Descendants live in California.

The author, Maurice J. VanGordon, was born in 1923 to Lloyd VanGordon (1895-1965) and Irene Susan Howland (1897-1972) in Whitelake Township, Michigan. Traces the Howland line back to John Howland and Freelove Wood who were married in 1725. They lived in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Traces the VanGordon line back to Peter VanGordon (d. 1852) and his wife Margaret (d. 1870) of Michigan.

One Radcliff was Thomas Radcliff (1794- 1841) who fought in the Napoleonic wars and then immigrated to Canada where he became an important settler in Ontario. Thomas Henry Freeman was born 4 July 1792 in London, England. His parents may have been Balthazar Charles Freeman and Sarah Lovegrove. He married Ann Ballard (1793-1865), daughter of William Ballard and Hester Askew, 11 May 1817. They had eleven children. He died in 1862 in Baltimore, Maryland. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Florida, Michigan and California.
