Azor Hoyt (1770-1842) was born near Stamford, Connecticut, son of James and Mary Ann Belden Hoyt. The family immigrated to New Brunswick in 1783. Azor married Hannah English in 1798. His diary dates from 1810-1842 with further entries being made by his descendants, Isaac Ketchum Hoyt and John Allan Hoyt.

John Bissell was born ca 1590-91 in Somersetshire, England. John married twice but neither wife's name is known. The date of his coming to America is thought to be ca 1628. He died in Windsor, Connecticut on 3 October 1677. Levi Mills (1799-1854) and his wife, Sarah Gardner (1806-1854), were married at Sparta, Georgia. They had ten children, 1824-1847, born in Washington County and Pike County, Georgia. Sylvanus Hoyt (1754-1825), a fifth-generation descendant of Simon Hoyt of Charleston, Massachusetts, lived in Poundridge, Westchester County, New York, where he married Anna Smith in 1777. Their five sons and four daughters were all born in New York.
