Samuel Roberts (1860-1923) was born in Spring Mill, Pennsylvania, son of Joseph Roberts (1820-1886) and his second wife, Martha Wrigley (1817-1880). Samuel married Emma Hunsberger Rylands (1861-1955), daughter of William Rylands and Sarah Hunsberger. Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, New York, and elsewhere.

John Valentine Kratz (1707-1780) emigrated from Germany to America on the ship "Friendship" in 1727, settling in Salford Township, Philadel phia (now Montgomery) County, Pennsylvania. He was married to Ann Clemens, by whom he had nine children. Many descendants of this large Mennonite family remained in Pennsylvania, while others migrated to Canada or moved into many other of the United States.

John Singer was born in 1766 in Pownal, Vermont. His father was probably Abraham Singer. He fought with the British Army in the Revolutionary War and moved to Ontario after his father was killed. John married, had two children and settled in Clinton Township. He married again in 1795. His wife was Susannah Overholt, daughter of Staats Overholt. They had eleven children.
