Christian Nielsen (1845-1911) was born in Vejby, Frederiksborg, Denmark. He immigrated to Utah and married Lena Caroline Jensen (1862-1935) who was born in Guldager, Vrejilev, Hjorring, Denmark. They later moved to Wyoming. Descendants lived in Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, and California. They changed the surname to "Nelson".
