John Curtis was baptized 15 September 1577 in Nazeing, Essex, England. He married Elizabeth Hutchins, daughter of John Hutchins and Maria, in 1610. They had three sons, John, William and Thomas. John emigrated in 1635, followed by his parents and two brothers in about 1637. They settled in Roxbury, Massachusetts. He died in 1639 in Wethersfield, Connecticut. John Emery Adams was born in Andover, Massachusetts in 1780 and married Sarah (Sally) Moody in 1805. His parents moved to Andover when John was about ten years old.
