James Hurren (1827-1909) was born in Linstead Parva, Suffolk, England to William Hurren (1795-1856) and Mary Fisher Martin (1785-1856). In 1850 he married Eliza Reeder (1830-1912). Eliza was the daughter of David Reeder (1802-1856) and David Balls (1803-1839). Shortly after the marriage, members of both families joined the LDS Church. The Toolson family emigrated from Sweden in 1857. They had converted to the LDS Church in their native land and eventually arrived in Utah in 1858. They settled in Smithfield, Utah. In 1862 one of the Toolson sons, Lars Toolson (1836-1894), married Ingra Tufvesson. They were the parents of six children. One of their children was Lars Lorenzo Toolson (1863-1923). David Reeder was born 21 December 1801 in Rumburgh, Suffolk, England. His parents were Robert Reeder and Mary Davy. He married Lydia Balls (d.1839), daughter of John Balls and Sarah Scones, in 1828 Chediston, Suffolk. They had six children. Their son, George, emigrated in 1853 and settled in Utah.
