Strangeman Hutchins, son of Nicholas Hutchins was born in Virginia in 1707. He married Elizabeth Cox, daughter of Richard and Mary Cox in Henrico County, Virginia, ca. 1731. They had eleven children, 1733-1756. The family moved up the James River to Goochland County, where they lived until moving to North in 1786. Nine Hutchins immigrants are discussed, and their immediate genealogy is provided. The first of these, Thomas Hutchins, was the immigrant grandfather of Jacob. Thomas was probably born in England, came to Massachusetts before 1718, was married to Sarah Southwick in 1719- 1720, and died in 1747.

John B. Hutchins was the son of Myron C. Hutchins (b.1909) and Beverly Berhalter (b.1910), both of whom were born at Kendallville, Indiana. He was a descendant of Walter D. Hutchins and Elizabeth Birdsell of Huron Co., Ohio. Later family members were located in Noble and DeKalb Counties in Indiana. Several generations of ancestors are given.

James Hutchins was born in 1810 in Stewart County, Tennessee. He married Susannah Beavers (1820-1874), daughter of Frederick Beavers and Sarah Cade, in 1825 in Franklin County, Mississippi. They had fourteen children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Wisconsin, Idaho, Colorado and California.

Clarence Linden Hutchins Baer, son of Ralph Hewetson Baer, Sr. and Cara Octavia Hutchins, was born on 6 October 1911 near Suwanee, Gwinnett County, Georgia. Clarence married Louise Gregg, daughter of Raymond Powers Gregg and Susanne Fisher, on 7 May 1938 in Denver, Colorado. Louise was born on 14 October 1914 in Mena, Arkansas. Ancestors, descendants and relatives mainly resided in Wisconsin, Arkansas, Georgia, Colorado and California.
