Description
Collection of materials on the Iglehart families who settled in Maryland and other locations along the east coast. Several of these families began in America about 1710 with emigrations from Germany to New York and Maryland where they made contributions to their community and raised their families. Most of the material is from the 18th and 19th century and only in a couple of cases brought to the present time.

Jacob Iglehart (ca. 1720-1801) first appears in the records of Prince George's County, Maryland, in 1753, in the will of his father-in-law, John Perry. Jacob Iglehart and his wife, Jane Perry, are believed to be the parents of nine children. Descendants of their sons: Jacob (d. before 1804), John (ca. 1745-1813), James (1752-1825) and Jeremiah (d. 1818), lived in Maryland, Kentucky, Indiana, and elsewhere. John Igleheart was born in about 1743 in Prince George County, Maryland. He was the son of Jacob Igleheart (1720-1801) and Jane Perry, and the grandson of Count Johann von Eichelhardt. He married Mary de Nune in about 1763. They had ten children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Maryland, Kentucky and Indiana.

James Brown, Sr. was born in about 1755. He married Dorcas in about 1786 in Virginia and they had seven children. They moved to Kentucky in about 1800. James died before 1850 in Fulkerson, Kentucky. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Kentucky.

Chiefly a record of some of the families and descendants of Stephen Hansford. He was born ca. 1698/99. He came from Abbotsbury, England to King George County, Virginia as early as 1726. He married Elizabeth Doniphan. She was the daughter of Capt. Alexander Doniphan. He married Margaret Mott. She was the daughter of George Mott. He was the father of at least five children. He died 1772 in King George County, Virginia.
