James Isham was born in 1716 in London. His parents were Whitby Isham and Ann Scrimshire. In 1732 James was hired by the Hudson's Bay Company and subsequently immigrated to Fort York, Canada. He married (1) Catharine Mindham. He married (2) an unnamed woman of the Cree Tribe.

James King was born in 1816 in New York. His father was John King, who emigrated from Ireland in 1816. He married Achsah Burrill (1814-1884). They had nine children and probably lived in Genesee County, New York. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in New York, Wisconsin and Illinois.

The earliest known ancestor of the author was William Baugh (1610-1687) who was the father of six children. He was born in England and eventually settled in Henrico County, Virginia. One of his descendants was Moses Baugh (1851-1930) who was born in Lincoln County, Georgia and married Nancy Jane Isham. They were the parents of nine children. Descendants live in Georgia.

Chiefly family and descendants of John Isham (1654-1713). He was born in England or possibly Virginia and arrvied at Barnstable, Massachusetts, ca. 1670. He married Jane Parker (1664-1719/20) in 1687 at Barnstable. They had nine children, 1689-ca. 1706. Descendants listed lived in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Ohio and elsewhere.
Includes the Allen, Carpenter, Fuller, Kellogg, Owen, Simons, Young and other allied families....
