Description
Fortunatus Sydnor was born in about 1640 in England. His father was probably William Sydnor. He emigrated in about 1666 and settled in Lancaster City, Virginia. He married Joanna Lawson Sockwell, daughter of Rowland Lawson and Lettice, in about 1670. They had six children. Fortunatus died in about 1682. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri, North Carolina and Texas.

Laura Elizabeth Vaughn was born 24 July 1860 in New Bloomfield, Callaway, Missouri. Her parents were William Wilson Vaughn and Elizabeth Jane Brandon. She married David Foster (1851-1948) 10 March 1880. They had five children. Ancestors and relatives lived mainly in Missouri, Virginia and England.

James Gallaher (ca. 1730-1792) was born in Ireland. He and his wife, Sarah E. Miller, were in the Cumberland Valley in Pennsylvania in 1762. They later settled in Washington County, Tennessee in 1783. Descendants lived in Tennessee, Illinois, Arkansas, Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, California, Washington, Minnesota and elsewhere.

Absolem Smith married Mary Phillips of Catawba Valley, Va. in 1776 and they lived in Mason Cove, Va. His brother, Humphrey Smith married Eleanor McElhaney in 1785 and died in Floyd County, Virginia. Descendants lived in Virginia, Kentucky, and elsewhere.
