Nathan Vick was born in 1824 in Guilford County, North Carolina. His parents were Noah Barefoot Vick and Sarah Sullivan. He married Sarah McKillips in 1845 and had one son. She died and he married Hannah Jane Peters in 1848 and they had six children. He served in the Civil War and died in 1864 from injuries suffered in 1861.
