Description
Joseph Hedges was born in about 1674. He married Catherine Stalcup, daughter of John Stalcup and Catherine Erickson in about 1709. They had nine children. Follows the descendants of their sons, Charles and Joseph. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.

Peter Bryan (1755-1815) moved from Virginia to Tennessee in the 1780's. Daniel Horton Sr. (1752-1839) moved from North Carolina to Tennessee. Both served in the Revolutionary War. Descendants lived in Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Kansas and elsewhere.

Description
Rene de St. Julien (ca. 1660-ca. 1744), a Huguenot, was probably born at Vitre, Brittany, France. He was a soldier in England, then immigrated to America by way of Bermuda, where he married Mary Bullock. They settled in Maryland. They had ten children. Most of the family migrated to Winchester, Virginia, between 1735 and 1740. Rene and Mary are buried in the old Opequon Cemetery. Five of their sons migrated to Orange County, North Carolina, ca. 1755....

James Couve (Couvey, Cove, Covey) immigrated from England to Braintree, Massachusetts in 1640. He moved to Westerly, Rhode Island in 1661, and died in 1712. .
