John Justus Jr., son of John Justus and Margaret Lowder, was born about 1725 probably in Maryland. He married Elizabeth, parents and surname not listed, about 1748 probably in Maryland. They had 10 children. John died about 1785 in Frederick County, Maryland and Elizabeth had also died there by 1792. Their descendants have lived in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, and other areas in the United States.

Johann Gustafsson came to Delaware in 1643 as a soldier from the Kinnekulle region of Sweden. By 1669 he had settled in Kingsessing, near Philadelphia. Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, and Illinois. The Gustafsson name was eventually changed to Justis or Justus.

He married Mary Brown (1901-1980), daughter of William Thomas Brown (1857-1929) and Anna Alice Morrow (1862-1952), in 1916. They had three children. Jean Deford, born in 1665 in Toulouse, France, married Marie Marchand in 1685 in Toulouse, France. They immigrated to America and had 14 children. Jean died in 1730. His descendants to the 9th generation are traced to Warren Cylvester DeFord, born 19 Nov 1895. Many of his descendants are also listed. He died 15 November 1805 in Jefferson, Frederick, Maryland. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Maryland, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Kansas.
