Johann Christian Gerlach (1672-ca. 1764), probably a son of Hans Gerlach, was born in Germany. He immigrsted to America, settling in upstate New York. He and his wife Anna Maria Margaretha had four children.
Pieter Gerlach (1723-ca. 1823), a son of Johann Juriaen Gerlach and Elisabetha Lutzenius, was born in New Jersey of immigrant parents. He was the father of six children.
