Description
Rev. Joel Beachey (1816-1894) married Elizabeth Gnagy (1816-1906) in 1840 at Grantsville, Md. They had eight children. The parents died in Maryland, but the children migrated to Ohio and then to Ill. One daughter, Catherine/Katie, married Mose Kauffman in 1846 at Holmes Co., Ohio. They settled in Arcola, Ill. to rear their seven children Some relatives stayed in Ohio, some went to Ind., Iowa and elsewhere.

Daniel Schettler, Sr. was born in Germany, October 8, 1810. He immigrated to America May 10, 1833. He settled in Somerset County, Pennsylvania and joined the Amish Mennonite Church located at Castleman river. He married Helena Swartzendruber December 30, 1833. She was born March 5,1816 in Germany. He died in Iowa June 14,1864. Daniel and Helena had ten children.

Christian Kauffman/Coffman/Kaufmann and his father, John moved from Berks County to Mifflin County, Pennsylvania in 1806. Christian married Catherine Yoder about 1813. They helped establish the Ammish-Mennonite districts in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Kansas where many of the descendants have remained.
