Descendants of Adam Kerr (1802-1851/61), who emigrated from Scotland in 1823 and settled in New Brunswick, Canada. He married Rose McGinnis of Ireland in 1824. They were the parents of eight children. Descendants live in Canada, Texas, Massachusetts and elsewhere.

Captain Charles Schreiner founded Schreiner Institute in 1917 and worked toward its establishment until 1923. The military institute was created for young boys and included both secondary school and Junior College curriculum to prepare the students for further education. Thomas Kerr, Jr., son of Thomas Kerr, Sr. (b. 1721) was born 1743 in Ireland. He came to America around 1750 with his parents. He was married to Margaret Clark, also a native of Ireland. They settled in Eastern Pennsylvania, either in Lancaster or Dauphin counties. They had ten children.

William Gilmor (1747-1816), of Scottish lineage, emigrated from Ireland to Cumberland County, Pennsylvania as a widower with one son, Archibald. He married Sarah Hanna about 1778. Arthur Scott Sr. (fl.1786- 1816) lived in Washington County, Pennsylvania, and was the father of Arthur Scott Jr. (1761-1843), who married Ann Hamilton about 1788.
