Description
George Peter Koehler, son of Jacob Koehler and Barbara Schaefer, was born in Huck, Russia in 1875. He married Catharina Elisabeth Schmidt, daughter of David Schmidt and Maria Barbara Masch, in 1899. They had eleven children. They emigrated in 1905 and settled in Herrington, Kansas. He died in 1939.

Theobald Mechling (d.1765) and his brother, Jacob immigrated with a group of Palatinates from Germany (via Rotterdam) to Philadelphia in 1728. There is a possibility that the Mechlings came from Strelitz which is located in Mechlinburg, Germany. They engaged in the tannery trade while living in Germantown, Pennsylvania. John Landis was born in 1783. He married Anna (Nancy) Brubaker in 1809. One of their sons, John (1816-1896), was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. In 1824 the family moved to Ashland County, Ohio. He married Mary Kagey and they had a son, Reuben (1844-1922).
