John Henry Augustus Krohn emigrated from Germany in 1827. He settled in New Orleans, Louisiana. He married Marie Solitelle Cuevas, daughter of Juan Cuevas and Marie Helene Ladner, 16 November 1829. They had twelve children. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Germany, Louisiana and Mississippi.

He married Anna Sophia Matter (1804-1845), daughter of Hans Matter and Engel Dumstrey, in 1825 in Fritzow, Pomerania. They had eleven children. He emigrated in 1846 and settled in Wisconsin.
