Brothers, John, Jacob and Philip Schwardle, were born in Eppingen, Germany and emigrated to Pennsylvania between 1772-1782. their sister, Anna also emigrated and married Jacob Krout. Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, Kansas and elsewhere.

John Fruit Jr. (1738-1824) was a son of John Sr., a Huguenot who had fled from France to Wales. John Jr. immigrated from Wales to Liberty, North Carolina. On 13 July 1812 he married Abigail Howard, daughter of Abijah and Priscilla Cushman Howard also of Thetford. After their marriage Alfred and Abigail lived in Greene, New York, for about 3 years. They returned to Thetford where about sixteen years later Abigail died on 5 July 1837....
