"The ancestry of Thomas Warne, one of the twenty-four Proprietors of East Jersey, is uncertain. That he was born in Plymouth, in Devonshire, County, Cornwall, England and lived sometime in Ireland, we know from his tombstone; but further than that, except that his father's name was Stephen, we are not sure.
