The Rinker family originated in the Canton of Zurich, Switzerland. Hans Jakob Rinker (1724-1797) was born in Nuerensdorf, Switzerland and immigrated to America with his wife Susanna Bachmann. They settled in Virginia and were the parents of at least five children, three of whom survived to maturity. Descendants live in Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio and other parts of the United States.

Henrietta Bolzau (1885-1910), daughter of Charles Bolzau and Jennie Gatke (1862-1889), was born in Arizona Territory. She married Isaac Milford Lantz (1870-1949), son of Christian Fisher Lantz and Rebecca Jean Zook, in 1905 in Tempe, Arizona. They had three sons. She died near Fresno, Texas.
