Descendants of John Lay (1610-1675), William Davison (1777-1870), John Oliver Dusty (ca. 1787-ca. 1866), and other ancestors of the author. These ancestors were early settlers in the Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey. Members of these families later moved to Louisiana and Michigan.
