Patrick McAtee (1652-1717) and Rosamond McAtee (ca. 1652-1719) lived in Charles County, Maryland. Descendants lived in Maryland, Kentucky, Virginia, Missouri, Indiana, North Carolina, and elsewhere. Also includes family of Hans Dewalt Leatherman and his wife, Maria Engel of Mattstall, Germany who came to Pennsylvania in 1727.

Theodorus Eby (1663-1727) emigrated in about 1704 from Switzerland to the Palatinate of Germany. In 1715 he immigrated to Philadelphia, and settled on land in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsylvania and elsewhere. Includes probable ancestry in Switzerland.

John Andrew Smith (1754-1836) enlisted in the Revolutionary War while living in Fauquier County, Virginia in 1777. He later lived in Blount County, Tennesse and then died in Lawrence County, Indiana. Clyde W. Crumrine was born on August 4, 1870. He was the son of Alonzo Bower Crumrine and Eleanor Schooley Weaver. Clyde married Luceola Acklin, daughter of Samuel Acklin and Eliza Jane Porter, on August 1, 1895 in Greene County, Pennsylvania. Clyde died on August 29, 1901.

Martin Oberholtzer (1709-1744), the progenitor of this family, was born in Germany, thirty miles from Frankfort-on-the-Main. He immigrated to America in the early part of the 18th century and settled in Bucks Co., Pa., probably somewhere in Bedminster Township. In 1736 he married Agnes (1713-1786). Both are buried at the old Mennonite graveyard at Deep Run, Bucks Co., Pa. Agnes married for her second husband pioneer William Nash, as his third wife....

Peter Grosnickel (ca.1728-1822), his brother according to family tradition, immigrated from Germany to Philadelphia in 1746, married twice, and also settled in Frederick County, Maryland. Andreas Hirschmann, Matheus Hirschmann, Ulrich Hirschmann and Johann Adam Hirshmann, presumably brothers, emigrated from Germany to Philadelphia in 1751. Descendants and relatives of these four lived throughout most of the United States. This revised edition contains much new genealogical data about some of the Christian Harshman I and Matthias Harshman I.
