Morgan Davis (or Davies) was a pioneer in the portion of pre-Revolutionary Rowan Co., North Carolina, that later became Stokes County. His birthplace is unknown, but he was in Rowan Co. as early as 1759. He married Sarah (Reed?) in 1763 and remained in Rowan Co. until he left for Tennessee in 1801. Descendants and relatives lived in Tennessee, Oklahoma, California, Missouri, and elsewhere.

Andrew Meadows was born in England. He married Catherine Wilkins, daughter of Richard Wilkins and Mary Walker in 1812 in Brinklow, Warwickshire. They had nine children. They emigrated in about 1830 and settled in Ontario. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Ontario and England.

Job Hartt was born 18 June 1792 in Vermont. He married Sarah Wessel (1793-1868) in about 1818 and they had fourteen children. He died 17 June 1875 in Kingston, Michigan. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Michigan.

Daniel Highsmith was in Bertie County, North Carolina in 1744. He married Ann Beck of Norfolk County, Virginia. His son, Thomas, eventually settled in Crawford County, Illinois. One descendant, Sarah Highsmith (1811-1896), married David Young Allison (1808-1881). Several descendants later migrated to Indian Territory and some moved on to Oregon. Descendants lived in Oklahoma, Kansas, Oregon, Missouri, Illinois, and elsewhere.

Wilford E. Hokanson was born in 1909 in Wyoming. He married Afton Barzee in 1933 and they had 9 children and adopted a tenth. They raised their family in Idaho, but retired to southern Utah. They were active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and involved in their community. Biographical information on their family and descendants is included in this volume. Eli Legg was born 4 January 1775 in Prince William County, Virginia. His parents were James Legg and Elizabeth. He married Jane Prince (1776-1846), daughter of Hubbard W. Prince and Elizabeth Kincheloe, in 27 February 1796 in Gainesville, Virginia. The had eight children. He died in 1835 in Alexandria, District of Columbia.
