Johann David Klein (1832-1897), a son of Georg Christof Klein and Catherina Quindt, was born in Russia. He married Maria Catherina Heinze (1832-1919), a daughter of Johann Frederich Heinze and Eva Eliz Langhofer, in 1852. They had ten children, four living to maturity. Three sons and a grandson emigrated to the United States. Most descendants live in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Pennsylvania.

Jacob Leiter was born about 1706, and " ... was Swiss or of Swiss derivation ..." He immigrated about 1727 to Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania, and moved to Washington Co., Maryland before 1762. He died about 1764. Includes Bell, Boyer, Giltner, Kleiser, Stembel, Stempel and related families.

Robert Louis Houk (b. 1937) was the son of Theodore Wilbur Houck and Helen Emma Gellerman. He married Marilyn Joan Haugen (b. 1936) in 1960. The oldest known Houk ancestor was Jacob Houk, who was the father of Henry (b. ca. 1775), who married Johannah. Their son, James married Abihail Shephard, while William married her sister, Christine.

"The family moved from the Lietersburg District, Maryland to Antrim Twp., in Franklin Co., Penn., near Upton where they engaged in farming."--P. 50.
