Family history of the Lennox family, part of the English nobility, between 1672 and 1896. The family held the titles of the Duke of Richmond, the Duke of Lennox, the Earl of Darnley, the Baron Methuen of Torbolton and the Baron of Settrington. During his youth, the heir to the dukedom was known as the Earl of March. The earlier family which had held the Dukedom of Richmond had died out with the latest holder, James Stuart (d.1655).
