Darwin Hinkley Holcomb (1852-1941) was born in LaSalle County, Illinois, the son of Harry Holcomb (1808-1888) and Tryphena Lawless Holcomb (1815-1895). He married Louisa Jane Livingstone in 1880 at Sand Springs, Iowa. They had six children, 1881-1895. The family moved from the Hopkinton area of Iowa, to Plankinton, Dakota Territory, ca. 1884, and returned to Hopkinton, ca. 1886. They moved to to Coggon, Iowa, in 1890. "This is the story of the family history and descendants of Donald Livingston [ca. 1776-1851] and Cirsty Campbell [b. ca. 1778] from the Island of Mull, Argyleshire, Scotland. Four of their seven children immigrated to Canada where they settled in Bentinck and Glenelg townships, Grey County, Ontario: Hugh, 1845; Duncan, 1849; John, 1850; Alexander, 1855. Michael Callender emigrated from Scotland to Boston, Massachusetts in 1630. Nathaniel Callender (1769-1822), a direct descendant in the seventh generation, married Olive Kellogg and moved from Massachusetts to Harrison (now Carroll) County, Ohio. Descendants and relatives lived in New England, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Washington, California and elsewhere. Includes ancestry in Scotland to 1070 A.D.

John D. Scott (1910- ) traveled to Alaska at a young age. He later moved with his family to Whitehorse, Yukon Territory. After highschool. John worked as a longshoreman and then attended the University of Washington. In 1935 he married Dorothy Phelps (1910- 1978) of Whitehorse. They lived for a number of years in Alaska but eventually settled again in Yukon Territory. They were the parents of two sons. Descendants live in Canada.

Robert Livingstone was born in 1654 and died in 1728; residence was in New York. He married Alida Schuyler Van Rensselaer in 1679. She was born in 1656 and died in 1726. The couple were the parents of nine children.
Descendants reside primarily in New York.

James Shepherd (1796-1882), son of James Shepherd and Ann Thorn, was born in Kissing Point, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. He married Harriet Nelson (1800-1877), daughter of Isaac Nelson and Sarah Goodwin. They had thirteen children. He went to New Zealand as a missionary to the Maoris in 1818.

George Bremner was born in about 1765 in Scotland. He married Ann Farquaharson in about 1791. They had eight known children. Ann died and George emigrated with his children in 1821 and settled in Lanark County, Ontario. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Ontario and New York.
