Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Lobdell (and variant spellings) families whose ancestors came mainly from England. Some immigrated during ca. 1630 to Connecticut and Massachusetts. Later families also lived in Canada, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Wisconsin, and elsewhere.

William Odell (d.1676), a Puritan, spent some time in Holland, and then returned to England, where he married Rebecca Brown. They immigrated to Concord, Massachusetts in 1634, and later moved to Fairfield, Connecticut. Some descendants immigrated to Canada after the American Revolution. Some descendants moved to New York, Iowa, Wisconsin, West Virginia and elsewhere.

Thomas Dakin (ca.1624-1708) immigrated from England to Concord, Massachusetts during or before 1652, and married twice. Descendants and relatives lived in New England, New York, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri and elsewhere. Some descendants immigrated to Nova Scotia and elsewhere in Canada.

Edward Bosworth (d.1634), his wife, Mary, and their family immigrated in 1634 from England to Boston, Massachusetts. He was ready to die, but asked to be carried on deck that he might see the new land. When they sighted land, he died and was carried ashore to be buried at Boston. His wife and the family settled at Hingham, Massachusetts. Descendants and relatives lived in New England, New York, Illinois, California and elsewhere. Vol. 1 includes history...

Lawrence Timmerman was born about 1720, a son of Jacob & Margaretha Schutz Zimmerman, and died about 1794-95 in Manheim, Herkimer County, New York. Descendants have lived principally in New York, Indiana, Nebraska, and surrounding states.

James Holmes was born in 1748 in Ohio, and later married Nancy Ann Whitaker. Their children included Alexander, Thomas, William, Richard, James, Sarah, Joseph, Samuel, Joshua, Eli, Roland, Nancy A., Reason, Bazalee and Lemuel.

Hulda Lobdell (1765-1848) was born in Salem, New York to Joshua Lobdell III (b.1727) and Sarah Scott (1719-1823). Joshua was a descendant of Simon Lobdell (1625-1717) who was born in Hereford, England. He married Perris Pearce. They immigrated to America and settled in Connecticut where the family remained for at least two generations.

Ralph Keeler was born in about 1613 in England. His father was probably Ralph Keeler. He emigrated in about 1635 and settled in Hartford, Connecticut. He moved to Norwalk Connecticut in about 1650. He had eight children with his first wife, whose name is unknown. He married Sarah Howe in about 1662. He died in 1672. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York and Ohio.
